WE'VE GOT PRODUCT AND RHYTHM!

Our January product making workshop at 100th Monkey Art Studio was a great success!

We made 3 flavors of all natural lip balm:
Lemon, Mint, and Orange Creamesicle
Ingredients: olive oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, vitamin E,
Essential oils: lemon, mint, orange and vanilla.

2 types of all natural shampoo:
Lemon Mint and Lavender
Ingredients: shampoo tea blend, Dr.Bronner castile mild soap,
shampoo base, vegetable glycerin, grapeseed oil,
Essential oils: lemon, mint, and lavender.

THANK YOU BABY LEAH!
We experimented with putting the shampoo in spray bottles to make it easier to put in little kid's hair.
The only problem-we used the Lemon Mint instead of Lavender-lots of tears later we decided we'll only use Lavender for kids!

All of our products are out for testing (on real people, of course!) but in the meantime,

MAKING PROGRESS!

We learned alot about making the lip balm completely "all natural" on our recent mission to source out flavors. It's very tempting to make  yummy "bubblegum" and "cotton candy" balm but then we'd have to use chemically enhanced flavorings. We found out that we need to stick to the "lip safe" essential oils. It may limit our choices a little but we're going to experiment with making these flavors: mint, chocolate mint, orange, lemon, and vanilla. Sorry Joey, but the "yeast infection" tincture you grabbed from the shelf won't work as a lip balm flavor!
We've also decided to offer an "all-natural" kid's shampoo and our own blend of Minty's Workshop herbal teas. We're very excited for our first product making workshop this weekend at the 100th Monkey Studio!
In the meantime, we've been working on some more artwork for the packaging. These ones are by Talia and Sophia. Next post will be our product debut!

WORKING HARD!

The crew at Minty's Workshop have been working hard getting their all natural lip balm company started. Here are the proposed names they came up with. The adults all voted for I "heart" Lips but the kids are adamant it's called Minty's Workshop-I think they made the right choice! They'd love to know what you think-feel free to vote in the comment section.

They've also come up with some wonderful ideas for logos and artwork for the packaging:

They even drew up a prototype of what they want the lip balm packaging to look like:

We did a quick internet search and found exactly what we were looking for! We just need to figure out how to order them.
Next on the agenda: Figuring out what flavors to make. Mint for sure and maybe even Chocolate Mint too!

Welcome!

We are Jill, Joey, Eli, Talia, and Sophia. Jill is Joey's mom and the rest of us are friends. We are Minty's Workshop. We make all natural lip balms for kids. They're totally free of harmful chemicals but in super cute and fun packaging! We might even make shampoo. We hope to be selling our lip balms at some local Portland art fairs. Hope to see you there! We'll be posting more soon.
